The Government of Kogi State has declared that all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state to proceed on a compulsory holiday from Friday, November 10 to Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
It was gathered by ENTRUST REPORTERS that the directive was issued by the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones.
Jones stated in a statement released on Tuesday, that this holiday was in respect of the November 11 governorship election.
He noted that schools will resume regular academic activities on Wednesday, November 15.
The commissioner further wished all a peaceful election and assured the public of the government’s commitment to providing a secure and conducive environment for the conduct of a free, fair and credible election.
