The brilliant performance of Taekwondo contingents of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, at the 2022 NUGA Games, has earned three (3) members of the team invitation to camp in preparation for the World University games to be held in China.
The three (3) students are Adabanija Taoheeb, 500 level Biochemistry,
Fehintola Abdulrahaman, 500 level Transport Management and Abdulraman Naeemat, 400 level Science Laboratory Technology.
It was gathered by ENTRUST REPORTERS that five (5) member Karate team of the University took part in the Strata Base Championship organized by the Nigeria Karate Federation in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State where the team won five(5) bronze medals in both Kata, ie, (Team Demonstration Event) and Kumite ie, (Individual Sparring Event).
The medals were won by
Olatunji Idayat 500 level (Biochemistry) in 55kg class in Kumite individual sparring event while in the kata team event, four (4) bronze medals were won by Olatunji Idayat, 500 level Biochemistry, Salawu Habeebat, 400 level Nursing, Yusuff Mudafiah, 200 level Nursing and Oladejo Kehinde, 200 level Accounting.
Ag. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mojeed Olaide Liasu commended the stars, promised that the management of the institution shall continue supporting them.
