The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles.
In a statement released by Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF General Secretary, said in the early hours of Tuesday: “The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
It would be recalled that Nigeria national team knowns as Super Eagle has been without a head coach since the former super eagle’s player Finidi George stepped down after three matches in charge as the head coach
It was gathered by ENTRUST REPORTERS that the appointment is with immediate effect as to allow Bruno swing into action before the Nex super eagle’s AFCON Qualifier
Bruno Labbadia was hired by VfL Wolfsburg in February 2018 where he recorded four wins three draws before leaving in the summer of 2019, He was appointed the as the new manager of Hertha BSC in April 2020 where he oversaw the last nine matches finishing with a record of four wins, one draw and four losses, he took them to 10th place in the table before being sacked on January 21 2021, Labbadia then returned to Stuttgart in December 2022 but was sacked in April 2023 after the team dropped to the last place on the table
Nigerians would be hopeful that Bruno Labbadia could change the Super Eagle’s recent bad forms around for good and perhaps could be in charge of the team for a long time
