Nigeria Former President, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he still receives visitors from various parts of the country even though, he tries to stay as far away from the nation’s capital as possible.
In an interview on NTA’s “Conversations With History” program, which aired on Monday night. Buhari expressed his surprise at the continued influx of visitors despite his remote location. “People charter buses and come to see me from time to time,” he said. “I thought I had stayed as far away from Abuja as possible, but they still come.”
Buhari went further to say that he would have relocated to neighboring Niger if the borders were open. “I would have gone to Niger if the borders were opened,” he quipped.
Earlier in the interview, Buhari had downplayed any sense of nostalgia for his time in office. “Miss? I don’t think I miss much,” he stated.
Buhari had made similar statement in December 2022, At the time, Buhari had expressed doubts about whether he would miss being President.
His Statement, “I believe I’m trying my best, but still, my best is not good enough,” he declared. “I wonder if I am going to miss much. I think I’m being harassed.”
